Duncan Parry is a Consultant Vascular Surgeon based in West Yorkshire, with over 30 years of experience in vascular and general surgery. He has spent the majority of his career at the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, where he has built a substantial practice covering the full breadth of arterial, venous and lymphatic conditions.

For patients with varicose veins, Parry offers the complete range of modern treatments including endovenous laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, VenaSeal, microsclerotherapy for spider veins and conventional surgery where appropriate. He uses duplex ultrasound to guide accurate diagnosis and treatment planning across all venous presentations.

He qualified from the University of Sheffield in 1993 and went on to complete his surgical training across the Yorkshire region, earning his CCT in General Surgery in 2009. During his training he developed a substantial research portfolio, going on to publish more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific articles and winning the Moynihan Medal at the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, one of the most prestigious prizes in British surgery.

He was subsequently awarded an MD from the University of Leeds for his research contributions.Since his consultant appointment, Parry has performed over 180 carotid endarterectomy procedures, more than 155 aortic aneurysm repairs and upwards of 500 peripheral bypass operations, with all outcomes submitted to the national Vascular Services Quality Improvement Programme.

He has also helped develop national expertise in the use of bioprosthetic grafts for vascular graft infection and in patient-cooperative anaesthesia during carotid surgery.Within the NHS he serves as Trust Lead for the National AAA Quality Improvement Programme and sits on the Thrombosis and Haemostasis Committee at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
